Is it normal to get charged almost $900 on taxes from earning $2800?
I live in Vancouver, BC. I went on my 2 weeks paid vacation and when I got back they hadn't paid me, so they later paid me for the two weeks and the week I worked after coming back. In total my earnings were about $2800 because they put the 3 weeks together. Since I don't usually don't get paid that amount as a lump sum, I never get charged taxes that high. I was just wondering if that's approximately a normal tax deduction for the amount earned? Thanks. I live in Vancouver, BC. My mom is 70 and taking both OAP and a school pension. I have moved in with her and am paying $400/month rent.
